About the Author

Sally Frances is the author of Carroll Gardens Story, her debut novel set in the Brooklyn neighborhood she has called home for many years. A lifelong writer, she published her first article on mental health at thirteen and later studied fiction at the Sackett Writers Group and the Sarah Lawrence College Writing Institute. Her short fiction has appeared in Persimmontree.org, Belletrist Magazine, and the anthologies Flash Reads, Connections in a Flash, and Resistance in a Flash.

Before turning her focus to fiction, Sally worked for over three decades as a clinical social worker specializing in post-trauma disorders—an expertise that deeply informs her characters and themes. Her exploration of how people regenerate and grow after being frozen by PTSD helped inspire Carroll Gardens Story.
